Wedding Receptions
I traveled to the historic Hotel DuPont in Wilmington to paint this reception in the hotel's elegant ballroom. This bride really had an eye for detail--she had chosen a dress whose skirt appeared to be made out of bird feathers, and designed feather accessories for the wedding party to wear and feather centerpieces for the tables. In addition to capturing the dress, first dance, and the bride and groom's parents, I took care to include other special details of the room, such as the portrait murals on the walls (all representing famous women in love from history and literature), and the three different types of flower arrangements on the tables.
Most of the painting was done onsite, with minor touch-ups the following morning.
