Shayna and Ethan's wedding at the Rockleigh, NJ
Shayna and Ethan's wedding at the Rockleigh, NJ
Acrylic on Canvas
24" X 36"
2012

This painting was given as a gift to the newlyweds by the mother of the bride. I aimed to capture as much detail as possible of this beautiful, traditional outdoor Jewish ceremony, at the moment of the breaking of the glass at the very end end: including the lush flower arrangements, the splendidly decorated huppah canopy, the rabbi with the ketubah marriage contract and cantor, and portraits of the bride, groom, parents, siblings, grandparents, and other bridal party members--with special attention to the intricate lace and beading of the bridal gown.

I painted during the entire ceremony, and worked from my photos of the ceremony during the reception so guests could continue to see the painting evolve. Detailed portraits were completed in the studio.

"Thank you! My daughter loved the picture!"
