Jersey Cares mural sketch: "My Vacation"
Acrylic on wall, teachers' lounge, Jersey City Regional Day School

In May 2010, I participated in the Jersey Cares program as a muralist. This involved drawing the outline of a mural on the walls of a school site according to the faculty's requests--for the teachers' lounge, the school wanted some kind of vacation scene, so I drew six different over-sized postcards on different walls of the room depicting iconic scenes of popular tropical vacation spots, such as Hawaii and the Virgin Islands. The murals were painted by a group of volunteers on the annual Jersey Cares Day, May 1, 2010. The volunteers filled in my outlines, making their own decisions about color and texture.
